INDUSTRIAL AND REGIONAL BENEFITS:

The IRB Advantages in LUXELL Partnership

Canada's Industrial and Regional Benefits ("IRB") program was established in 1986 to ensure that Canadian companies also benefit from Canada's major defence equipment purchases.

As in most other countries with IRB offset programs, Canada's policy requires that prime contractors commit to sub-contracts and investments that improve Canada's technology base in an amount equal to the value of the contract won.

These sub-contracts and/or investments can be in the form of either Direct or Indirect commitments.

Direct commitments are usually straight-forward purchases of goods and or services from a Canadian company and related to the procurement being completed.

Indirect commitments can be transactions in the form technology transfer, joint ventures, investments, product mandates and or licenses.

The commitments can include marketing agreements, business development activities or providing access to new international markets.

As a Canadian SME, Luxell can help prime contractors, fulfill their IRB obligations by supplying high value -added display equipment for direct or indirect compensation and assist with gaining full advantage of the program benefits.
